Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for El Paso, Texas!
In the westernmost corner of Texas across the Rio Grande from Juarez, Mexico, El Paso’s locale in the Chihuahuan Desert between two mountain ranges made it an ideal battleground, and legends abound involving Apaches, Mexicans, Wild West desperados, and settlers. Conditions facilitating warfare also spurred commerce, since this canyon area served as a prosperous trade route, for centuries called El Camino Real, or the King’s Highway. With civilization also came the railroads, outlaws like Billie the Kid and lawmen like Wyatt Earp. El Paso -- nicknamed both Sun City and Star City -- has the feel of both Texas and Mexico, and attractions range from wineries and golf courses to Botanical Gardens, the El Paso Zoo, and museums at Fort Bliss, home to the annual Amigo Air Show. El Paso’s four bridges make it easy to cross the border by vehicle or on foot into Mexico to shop for silver, leathers, and other souvenirs. Lodging accommodations range from motels to hotels near the convention center.
